Walkers are offered a pedestrian route that stretches over 5.7 km, of medium difficulty, starting at Praia da Marinha.

The route runs along an almost continuous line of cliffs, only interrupted by water lines, giving rise to the hanging valleys that lend the route its name. Each suspended valley was, in the distant past, associated with the mouth of a water line and testifies to the intense erosion to which this coastline is subject, as it owes its formation to a rapid retreat of the coastline not accompanied by the notching of the waterline. .
